I can't say that I know about that. I also can't say that I know anything about Bollywood either. That's for Hindi speakers, which I'm not. It's only a native language of about 30% of the population. Another 40% speak it as a second or third language. And the remaining 30% don't speak it at all, like me.

I would guess that most Indians stick to watching movies in their own language, with the occasional foray into Hindi movies and less frequently into Anglo-American movies. If you're a native Hindi speaker you might check out movies in other Indian languages instead.

So foreign movies like from Europe, South America, Africa, or from elsewhere in Asia wouldn't really register. Watching an Indian movie in a different language and watching Hollywood movies alone would satisfy people's desire for foreign language movies
