Why would a supposed straight male go to a gay club?

I've never been to a gay club, but if I did that would be the reason. Just saying.

No one is buying that. If you go to a gay club, you know what you'll see? Gay stuff. Basically all of the LGBT crowd. Cross dressers, transgender people, fat/angry lesbians, unicorns, etc.

Huey Newton wasn't in a gay club though :heh: . The Black Panthers didn't attend gay clubs though :heh: Supporting rights isn't a problem but attending a sexual setting is suspect.

What he did was to show support. There's nothing wrong with that. Huey said that the only reason people fear and avoid gays is because they think gays are a threat to them or because they're scared they might be gay themselves, and that they should be supported. That includes on an interpersonal level- if you have a friend who wants to go to the club, you don't have to go with them, but it does mean a lot to people to show them you think of them as equals if you call yourself a friend, especially when so many people treat them poorly. Again, that doesn't mean you're obligated to go to a place like that, but to try and mock someone for doing so makes you look insecure, if anything, following Huey's reasoning.

Sometimes straight people have events at gay clubs because the venue is nice, just like gay people have had events at clubs that are predominantly straight, it happens.....Sounds odd but not everyone's that homophobic.....however you soon realize the crowds aren't a good mix at all.

I've Dj'd a gay party before.....very uncomfortable.

You're in Hollywood, you'll end up at one if you have any gay friends.

Those are the only reasons I can think of.
