1. well most dads dont have custody so the child is rarely around. if your dating a single mom more than likely she has custody and the child will be around.

People love who they love. And usually the other stuff gets worked around.
Relationships aren't always ideal or "logical".
I hesitate to use the word logical because I don't mean to say "rational" though they could be taken to mean the same thing.
