Why Wasn’t Joe Pesci more famous?

He had a nice moment in the 90's after Goodfellas. He was in The Super, My Cousin Vinny, Home Alone and a few other films. He was typecasted as a variation of the same character and I think he moved away from Hollywood because of that.

Joe Pesci is definitely not in that Pacino and De Niro tier.

Realistically he is in that Kevin Corrigan/Michael Imperioli tier of actors. Maybe a shade above because he's more charismatic. For the most part he's the same guy in most movies. A lot of people think highly of him because he was fortunate enough to be in a number of hits. But being in hit movies doesn't mean he's a great actor.

The acting range really isn't there.

He wasnt trying to be famous as others have said, but even if he was, there’s a ceiling. You still need a female fan base to reach that next level.

I love him as a actor but breh:mjlol:, the only time he escape the angry small dude was in JFK where he was actually amazing in:ehh:

What? That was his angriest character. :heh:
