Why was "T.I. vs T.I.P" not well-received by the public?

The song on Trap Muzik was better than the entire album

Exactly! It was inspired by a previous song...an amzing one at that and one of Tip's best. But this album was azz:scusthov:...still pissed I even bought it. I just see as a pothole between KING and Paper Trail.:yeshrug:

i cant get w/ some of these criticisms. i mean, it was too long. theres definitely some filler there but that could be said of nearly all his albums. i remember this getting a good bit of play in my car during freshman year. i dont think he has any bad albums though. id even rate 'no mercy' as ok.
As a BIG T.I. fan...:martin:

He exposed his technical rubrick was not his own and foreshadowed he was more than likely a ghostwritten talent solidly.
As his technical rubrick regressed from as advanced lyrically as anyone in the history of street based content in rap.
Which in essence frauded the public.

That 106 & Park appearance doomed this album before it even dropped. Album was even worse than that cringe-worthy interview.

"Tell em I said that" is one of his greatest songs ever though.

down, down, down, down, down....
sorry, but what went down on the interview?

Your more reasonable then most people,u know cats gotta over exaggerate around here....wack is too strong of a word probaly, but just take that with a grain of salt....most of them pretty much mean it was "ehhh"....But I personally didn't think King was that good, not sure how people can like King and then trash this album:rudy:...wasn't the letdown for me it was for a Lotta peopke, that's what King was to me....first sign of weakness in the kings crown:mjcry:

But filler on Trap Music and Urban Legend?nah bruh, both them is classics from top to bottom to me....folks need to put those back in,bcuz the lack of respect T.I been getting round here lately is disgusting:scust:

Almost as disgusting as his promo run for this album:mjlol:...we all understood the concept of TI vs TIP,we didn't need him to spell it out by physically doing interviews as two different people:laff:...breh!we know u a wild nikka who can be in a blockbuster movie, who's very intelligent....but can have a arsenal of guns in his house, and put himself in crazy situations.

That's why you was the king:banderas:

There was a lot of hype coming off of King and T.I. himself saying this album would be his classic. The album didn't measure up at all. The concept was poorly executed and the music wasn't all that either. It had a dope single and one of his best songs ever ("Tell Em I Said That"). "Respect This Hustle", "Hurt", "Dope Man", "Help's On The Way", and the interludes were dope. Everything else was mediocre to wack IMO.

Tell em I Sad That

Were the only good songs on that mess of a album. I remember being very disappointed when it first came out and Touchdown feat Eminem was so :scust:...I still don't see how that song turned out so bad with 2 great rappers.

The album just was average as hell.....He bounced back on Paper Trail tho
