Homie that's entirely reductive though. Like seriously reductive. That says nothing of the huge international appeal the movies already had or the expansion of the chinese market. Says nothing of the rising star of the franchise. Says nothing of them adding Statham to it or adding Tony Jaa and what that does for international markets. And says nothing of the fact that people just love these movies. So to attribute 90% of its success on Paul's death is just really shortsighted to me. Not to mention it's a good fukkin movie that got good word of mouth.
