Why it is only in Sitcoms? that husbands never cheat on their wives while other shows drama, action, sci-fic, etc always have the husbands cheated on their wives but never in sitcoms?....sup with that?.

Martin never cheat on Gina
Raymond never cheat on Debra
Kevin never cheat on Carrie
James never cheat on Florida :upsetfavre:

Al Bundy never cheat on Peggy

Even cartoon Homer never cheat on Maggie.

Many more.......

Because sitcoms are never supposed to be that deep with drama. The audience wants things to go back to normal once those 30 mins are over. Plus when you're writing a sitcom, you want the audience to be able to like your main guy at least to a degree and it's hard to like a cheater. In dramas and other genres it's easier to stomach and deal with because the worlds aren't simple, they're complex.

I understand what you said but I don't buy that You have the same people who hating on Florida from Good Times, etc......on low key.....They always have hot wife......."Marry a guy who is less attractive than you so he won't cheat". Honestly, Roseanne is one of the only live sitcoms I can think that didn't have this dynamic, they seem more realistic than other sitcoms. Sitcoms are supposed to be that deep though. Too p*ssy.....It would make it more interesting to see sitcoms "Wife/Hubsand" cheated on each other..

But that's people now hating on Florida. When that show was on, at that time in our history as a country, with the way black people were depicted on TV prior to that, you really think Norman Lear was going to let one of his writers conjure up a story where James cheated on her? Nah breh not at all. Black people would've been outraged beyond belief and that's not the type of shyt Norman Lear believed in with his shows. Also just because a fan doesn't think she's attractive isn't anyway to run a show. If I cast two actors on a show and they're married and their characters are a devoted husband and wife, I really don't give a damn if people who watch my show think one of them isn't that cute. I'm not going to write based on that. Especially in this day and age where people will complain and bytch about a show but still watch it anyway

sitcoms tend to involve fat and/or goofy husbands with hot wives

Also you gotta start with character first. Most sitcoms are about guys who wouldn't cheat on their wives or girlfriends, they aren't built like that. Al Bundy may talk a lot of shyt but he isn't cheating on Peg. He's had chances to but he won't do it. Martin would never cheat on Gina ,that's not who he is. Whereas Tony would totally cheat on Carmella because he's a scumbag

I know most of the sitcoms are toying with us that they about to cheat but never did. I think the writes to scare to do it.

I remember I watched the documentary called, "Exporting Raymond".

That man series creator Phil Rosenthal was asked to help with a Russian version so they would be called "Everybody Loves Kostya". They asked Russian people especially men, they hated it and asked why because they said in this country, no men would allow their wives to control everything, own them, it's a p*ssy whipped to them. Wife is a boss was like :camby: to them, not in this Russia. Phil was like :whoa: It's just a comedy show but to them Russian men was like "I don't care, we're not America but this is Russia". Mostly of them loves Frank Barone and was at :russ: Frank but rest o the characters and they were like :upsetfavre: :stopitslime:
