Austin was the dude who appealed to the "everyday" blue collar wrestling fan. There was never a wrestler who embodied the every man like SCSA
He was in good shape
but wasn't overly jacked
He wasn't the tallest...lots of wrestlers taller than him
He was blue collar (and that's what the traditional wrestling fan is/was)
He cussed, drank beer, gave his boss the finger, etc.
The Rock, on the other hand, was a charismatic star...but he fit the mold of a wrestling/TV star more than SCSA...
The Rock was more "TV"/untouchable/"fictional" than SCSA
He was larger than life...versace wearing...celebrity...and that is needed in wrestling too. The "star" quality
Both were fantastic. We should really just let them live on Mount Rushmore and stop trying to compare them.
