I interview people. When we ask that question keep in mind that
The people that we select to be interviewed all have similar qualifications
What we are asking is what can you bring to the position that is beyond the scope of the job qualifications. What sets you apart from the pack. Saying experience, education and skill is playing it safe, but it doesn't make me as an interviewer go "wow"
We appreciate extensive research on the position that you are applying for and we can tell when your responses are generic. Integrating the demands of the position and how you can specifically fill the role with detail showing you understand the position is what we're looking for.
i like this post.
but i can assure you no two candidates have the same qualifications. one will always have more experience. i work in the IT field, so experience in my opinion beats out anything.
how u can market ur experience is what will set u apart. and yes, integrating the position into your answer seals the deal. but i seriously doubt anyone can compete with experience and knowledge.
