no, really... I'd put him in a transitional feud and legitimatize him.....
By giving him the russian judo moveset and a tad bit more aggression, toning down the silly shyt (No Powerwalking, no dumb ass "Poke of Doom" finisher, no snake puppet)....
and putting him in a three week or so feud with Daniel Bryan over the fact that Santino feels like HE'S the weakest link and has something to prove.
That's right, I'd have them feud over the Weakest Link gimmick.
And I'd leave them both faces, but I'd have them interfere in each other's matches.
And then they'd actually WRESTLE. that's right. I'd do this leading into some low key lame ass PPV, then let them do whatever they wanted in the PPV match. It would be 15 minutes long and maybe a 4.5/5 match.
Santino would lose, but would no longer feel like he's the "weakest link" or whatever, and they'd shake hands after the match. Then I'd have Santino moved down the card and work his way back up... by choice.

Agreed. We can all pretty much agree that he's legit in the ring. Why not give him the chance?
Never cared for him but dude was CRAZY over during Wrestlemania season, what, a year or two ago? Especially during that Elimination Chamber match. They could've kept him a comedic character and still pushed him high on the card to see how it went. But they went back to jobbing him out in no time and killed his heat.

with him the whole way. Dude is naturally funny too with his mannerisms and stuff. I guess it's tough to have him taken seriously with his current persona (mainly that stupid Cobra though)
