It makes perfect sense it’s a hub for conscious rappers. They see all the evil around them and it opens they eyes at a young age. Especially when they leave the city for the first time then come back to see the shyt they grew up with ain’t normal

The biggest fans of conscious rap and neo soul are people from the hood.
It’s music to help escape your reality and feel good about yourself.
Stop calling what he does conscious rap. He raps about everyday normal life. We need to stop acting like this is a sub genre because street content dominates rap. Saba touches on all that shyt too just not from the perspective of a hustler or shooter or whatever. That don't mean he s preacher or savior neither. Just a regular breh.

Conscious rap has those negative connotations that's why I mentioned them. It's just a box and it's unrealistic.
