Have you noticed a lot more anime on Netflix recently? In addition to buying older content, Netflix has also partnered with several Japanese production houses to produce five original shows. Disney plans to launch Disney in 2019, so movies and TV shows owned by Disney might be leaving Netflix. Netflix will have to rely more on its original content as more and more entertainment companies start their own streaming services. Anime could give Netflix a big advantage.

Issue is that folks want to be able to watch simlucast shows as well, but Netflix doesn't do week to week shows.

By the time an Anime is done airing, its on Netflix like months later. Already seen it :hhh:

The original animes are hit or miss though. Castlevania was pretty good. We will see about Dragon's Dogma :patrice:

They HAVE to knock it out the park with the live action Cowboy Bebop because that Death Note shyt was WACK and its looking like Netflix has an eye to do what Disney is doing and remake classic Anime’s as live action.

They only got one shot though. Cowboy Bebop is sacred ground within the anime fandom (deservedly so) so if the remake is a hit critically and commercially they’ll have a CRAZY amount of titles they could adapt and make bank.

Netflix can’t win this one. Once funimation and Hulu ( which Disney is the major owner) made that deal Netflix was never going to catch-up. I’ll give them credit for Devil-man crybaby and Castlevania but unless they get an exclusive partnership with Mad-house ( which M.H. will never do) this is a losing battle for Netflix.

Netflix can go back and get all them classic anime that anime heads love and the mainstream audience might have missed. And can. Produce new seasons, it could be japans gateway into an American audience. Imagine hunter X hunter or the new seasons of attack on titan and sword art online being a constant on Netflix. Or if they can fukk around and get dragon ball or one piece

Not sure if considered anime but they’re also doing The Last Airbender!
