Never had any issues with Wifi gaming, personally. Would no doubt get quicker dl speeds via cord, but I have no complaints.
Going by the lengthy reports I was reading, I was surprised that 'Destiny' didn't take long for me to download. Put on Netflix while it dl'ed and boom.
It's probably the router that's messing up.

That's the wired connection bridge you should have. Even if you have a combined cable modem w wireless, I'd disable the wifi on that and use your own router.
