Ive thought about it. Folks say it's expensive but there are multiple species of them at varying prices. I can pop some up when I get back home.

Gym “girlie” here and while I enjoy scallops from time to time I could never rely on them as a routline protein source. There aren’t enough dishes I could make to not get bored. Also scallops vary WIDELY in quality.

Chicken, salmon, sardines, steak, ground turkey are my go-tos.

Locally from a majorish store: Search Results

Pound of Petite Sea Scallops: $5
Pound of Bay Scallops: $13.98
Pound of full-size sea scallops(Wild Caught): $21.58
Pound of Peruvian Bay Scallops:$12.98
Pound of New England Bay Scallops: $49.98

So in that mix is a lot of variety in terms of prices but you deal with different varieties of scallops and depending on what you may pay for ground meats, it shouldn't be too bad. That said, deep sea foods like this can have negative health effects over time depending on where they come from if they end up making up the bulk of your diet. Way back when I wanted to try shrimp as a regular protein due to how cheap it is but shellfish and I don't seem to get along all of a sudden. That said, grassfed beef and steelhead trout make up the bulk of my protein. Neither are cheap but they are better tasting than scallops.
