Seriously, what the hell happened to VH1, though :heh:

I remember back when it was mostly white-ass shows like them top 100 music moments countdowns, Pop Up Video and Behind The Music. They was white as hell, and would spend a lot of airtime on older, big-time artists (MJ, Prince, white rock groups)......then them black reality shows came thru and crushed the buildings :heh:

Haven't watched TV in like 8 years..but I remember VH1 had hip hop honors, bringing out whodini and other old skool acts ,,VH1 was my favorite music station back then anyway,.

I haven't watched TV in almost 6. American TV is absolutely disgusting IMO. F*ck that garbage.

BET haven't been the same since they got rid of BET news at night covering black stories.. also since the mayor chris thomas joe clair left

VH1 has nothing but black sellouts up there willing to exploit black ignorance for white enjoyment and money

no wonder u see alot of black face lately among white folks. nikkas making real black folks look foolish

Trash TV is the best kind, as long as you view it on some kind of meta "ironic" tip and balance it with good cinema, international television. In NYC, I didn't really have time for TV outside of sports and HBO but in the slow ass South, shyt can be clutch.

It's funny how people say this and it really shows their age.

VH1 was WORSE than MTV in the 80s and the 90s when it came to black music. Atleast MTV caved in and started showing Rap and R&B in the late 80s. Vh1 never showed any hip-hop, r&B, or any "urban" music until the late 90s/00s when they had Vh1 soul and all of those pay channels that were basically like MTV2. shyt, you wouldn't even see Rock videos on Vh1 back in the day. It was all safe "adult-contemporary" music like John Tesh, Sade, Tears For Fears, David Sanborn, John Secada, Annie Lennox, etc.

Viacom changed the game,
Black folks sell everything we create,
We all do something strange for a little piece of change,
The end.

When BET got sold back in 2000, I didn't care much. Now that the ratchet culture took over entire networks and teach weak-minded people that beefing and fighting over trivial shyt is OK, is what made me pissed on what black folk have become.
