If you're honestly wondering why they don't allow kids to go to the NFL fresh out of high school, there's no way you've ever strapped on a helmet before :yeshrug:

Yall are missing the point.. but I expect yall too... :mjpls: You shouldn't deny an adult the right to earn and the NFL should have a developmental league in place as opposed to the NCAA exploiting 18-20 year olds for billions.... and corporations do not care about your welfare, at all... If there was an economical advantage for kids to get drafted out of high school, then a lot of teams would be doing it....

Sounds like a strong business strategy. Where exactly is the racial component?

TYRONE GA!
This is more about right to earn as opposed to the physicality of the sport..... if kids were making money off their likeness in college, then this wouldn't be somewhat less of an issue

I agree with that no doubt.

I'm just talking from a physical development point of view. You can get away with being fresh out of high school in hoops.....but Football?

I agree

It would be criminal to put an 18 year old on an NFL field............:wow: but I can see an uber talented high school senior coming off the bench in the NBA and making contributions.....

Imagine this happening to an 18 year old who's body isn't even finished developing

shyt would be damn near criminal negligence...

there's a salary cap in hockey and you can't play in the NHL/ until your 18, in basketball you're not forced to go to college, you can sit out a year play overseas if your a top prospect

The 3 years out of high school age requirement is because the NFLPA is weak.

Is it really in existing players interests to support an influx of younger, cheaper talent?:patrice:

This would actually be fair

Fair, but not necessarily better than the current system. Kids get tuition/education and room and board. That's worth more than a middling salary. Best thing would be for schools to carve out a percentage of all the tv money they get and put it in a trust for kids after they leave school.

That's fine too, and that option can be on the table. But a lot of blue chippers aren't being educated or getting degrees anyway..... and the NCAA aint really doing them any favors by forcing them to spend more time on their chosen sport as opposed to academics....
