Why is the WWE all about protecting the heels in 2017?

Let's not talk about the HUGE IMPACT the Shield reunion is having on ratings. Lol@50 yr old Goldberg filling up arenas, selling merchandise, and doing good rated segments. Sad.
They were going up once Cena got there but now that he's gone it's back to the same bullshyt

:mjlol:

They never do that with their company pushed face in the Cena run. Except for Daniel Bryan.

I could be off in my timeline but didn't they run this exact timeline with Daniel Bryan vs. the authority where all through the fall he was battling Triple H etc. only to finally get his BIG payoff at Wrestlemania?

Didn't they try this with Roman Reigns a few years ago with him winning and then losing to Sheamus in the fall, Triple H winning the Royal Rumble and then Roman Reigns finally beating him at Wrestlemania?

They use this trope a lot of the time. There are teases and ups and downs in the story all through the fall and then they "build" toward the Road to Wrestlemania in the spring and a lot of faces go over at WM. Not ALL, but a lot of the time.

It's not surprising to me that in October we have Heels protected. It seems like it's like this every fall/winter

It's probably a good thing as they spent years only protecting the authority figures as heels instead of the active talent.

Although there was a PPV a few days ago that had a main event of 3 on 5 handicap match where the faces won despite their 3rd guy being 48 and missing for 70% of the match.

How do you think Ric Flair had 16 title runs?

The heel is wrestling.

This time of the year you need the heels...the payoff is around WM season.

Last Wresltemania: Naomi wins, Brock Wins (no real face or heel there) Randy wins, Seth Wins, Cena and Nikki win, Hardyz came back and won, Bayley won, Dean beat Baron Corbin, KO beat Jericho

All the face champions minus KO

We are in the "chase" time of the year...the payoff is in Spring :manny:

That was never WWE though, they were always the dominant face territory. They didn’t use to constantly dikktease the fans on their favorites. That was WCW and the Dusty finishes, etc. Another issue is that every heel champion is chickenshyt. Jinder is the same heel champion Rollins was. It’s like WWE only saw the title runs when Flair had horsemen interference and ignored the years and years he was champion before the Horsemen. Ultimately, next time Roman becomes champion, keep the belt on him for years and have it stay there until they realize he ain’t it. Enough.

Naw that Bryan timeline wasn’t the plan at all. When HBK super kicked Bryan, that was the end of the program. Shawn had to demand that he at least have Bryan put him in the yes lock since Bryan lost the program. His plan for Mania to be Daniel Wyatt while Cena tries to turn him face on some Stuart Smalley shyt.
