It's not hard to see how they'd gravitate toward a charlatan who projects a phony image of strength. Many of them have been doing it their entire lives.

MMA (UFC mostly) have made it a mission to be an outlet for conservatives, right wingers, incels, and the alt right.

85% of them come from poor dysfunctional households, abuse (physical, emotional), substance abuse, rape/molestation, crime, war, poverty.

The other 15 were wrestlers or karate kids, Olympic competitors.

Not very many scholars or people that could've been doctors that were like "you know, I want to be an ultimate fighter!"

Gym Culture, MMA community, comic book and Video Game communities are run by white boys and majority white male. Most black guys who exist in the space are influenced into their way of thinking. I'm into MMA and comic book media as black man and liberal I'm not susceptible to go woke go broke videos that are often suggested to me but if I wasn't firm in my identity and politics it would be.

Also far right leaders want to be viewed as tough embrace combat sports. Putin, Trump, The former Brazilian president, that Chechin warlord guy all showed love to combat sports and were supported by MMA fighters from their countries. Trump showed up at a UFC show days after winning the election, I don't like it but I get it.
