Serena, during the young, peak, and prime years of her tennis career, was loved by Black men; it wasn't until maybe the mid-late 2010s that a segment of bruhs turned on her when she started dating and eventually got married to that cac, but even then, not a lot was going that far, to say she was ugly and the ones that were were trying to be edgy or felt personally slighted by her stepping outside the community, interracially.
See, it's like this: some of y'all have to learn to understand that Black women, understandably so, expect more from us; it's a racial pride thing, so even if it was just 10-20 Black men who called her ugly, that's just one too many.
I don't doubt that Black women aren't aware of White men and white people, in general, despising Serena more than anybody, especially during the early parts of her career but the truth is that's to be expected when you're Black and dominating in a sport you supposedly “don't belong in”, I don't take that as them excusing racism and hateful remarks from cacs but rather it not being a new discovery that White men and white people, in general, are racist, bigoted, and prejudiced more often than not, it's who they naturally are on any given day.
However, Black men and black people in general are supposed to have each other's back so generally speaking, the fact that any Black man or person would follow the footsteps of the White man and his brand of rhetoric and insults is more disappointing.
