Why is the film room so dead?

It's not a lot of movie buffs on the Coli to be honest. Only the big movies get discussed on here and TLR sometimes

Hell it's barely any music buffs on this is a hip hop message board

Celebrity gossip and sports are the main things posters like to discuss

• Nobody watches niche/indie cinema
• Some of the best posters that focus on such things moved on or were banned
• A marsupial been slacking with movies lately

Sadly, this subforum is the resemblance of Hollywood in a nutshell. Before covid, shyt was popping. You had options streaming wise and creativity was still there in the midst of Superhero movies and remakes.

But after covid, the care wasn't there, and it shows through buffs such as the marsupial. Hell, I find myself playing video games and just listening to movie podcasts, instead of trying to dig through streams and check out the next flick (I do really want to see Megalopolis)....but the grim reality that I will be able to see it within the week i actually can afford expensive ass tickets just to check the movie out

im ngl but ive chimmed a lot in super hero movie threads but all the other films i was watching didnt get as much attention

Fall Guy, Monkey Man, The Boy and the Heron all were films that got a lot of hollywood attention but i dont really see anyone talking about it so i stayed in the DCU/MCU threads

Yup, he got banned. Forgot which thread it was, but he had addressed Marty by “boy” in a post. He apologized, Marty forgave, and they both moved on peacefully from it.

It wasn’t until @Nicole0416_718_929_646212 took notice of this exchange where things really went downhill for him, lol. She dug up all of the receipts afterwards, leading to an exposal thread on him in TLR and the rest is history.
