Which is what frightens me. How will we ever repair our community, and come together as one if we have so much pent-up aggression? I fear for our future. It will be interesting to see what the black "community" looks like 100 years from now.

Spread love, reach out to people. You never know who you will help and you never know you can help you. Also, network and help people make connections to resources. Just as negativity spreads, kindness can spread with a little bit of effort.

This is so true!!! I notice a stark difference in blacks who are raised by both parents as appose to just one. Blacks who are raised with both parents are more mellow, less impulsive, not as ready to jump down your throat and fight. Obviously I'm generalizing, but in my experience this has been mostly true.

Sometimes I read through the replies on some of these threads, and it actually kills my mood. Can't tell you how many times I've been told to kill myself. Which...I know...its the internet, but with how violent blacks are to other blacks ON TOP of us being targeted by the police you'd think that would be the last thing a black person would tell another black person on an internet forum.

Also, I've noticed that you can't really open up here. Like, you would think this would be a place where blacks could reveal our insecurities and let our guard down, and get support in return. But way to often you have to deal with people calling you all types of names, and making fun of your situation. People always trying to one-up you to make themselves feel better.
