Because unrealized potential is one of the most sad and often infuriating things known to mankind. Parker being kept - purposefully - at somwhere-between-tween-and-college-sophomore level, when he's legit one of the smartest characters around with some of the best villains in all of comics, constantly limits him to Young Avenger status. And nobody reads nor cares about that Young Avengers garbage. With good reason. It inevitably ends up in fellowkids.jpg pandering territory with middle-aged writers trying to force the cool. That formula is a sure recipe for facepalm-quality content.

And if you think that's hyperbole, feel free to take a look at all his MCU movies and ask yourself why the character can't succeed without having a grownup superhero/chaperone around to help carry the weight.

Spidey is my all time favorite. To the point where I had Spider Man bed sheets as a youth. Costumes the whole nilzy.

I remember reading the series where Morbius took his eye out and killed him….

I can understand people wanting stories of lesser known dudes being told and being annoyed that there are 3 separate Spider-Man's this century.

that being said the masses ain't on that wave. Spider Man is clearly the Batman/Superman of Marvel and their most popular character. I don't think he's disrespected by the majority of people at all. that Spider-Man PS4 game is/was beloved.
