Somebody let me know because I don’t watch Sunday morning NFL pregame shows: do analysts on ESPN routinely send shots at CBS and FOX analysts (or vice versa) about their NFL coverage?

Once ESPN shifted their programs to focus on hot takes and made :skip:and:unimpressed: their flagship talent, sports discussion in general has plummeted. Now everybody is trying to be like these bozos.
They got rid of real journalists to give Steven A of all people a $20 million per year salary :snoop:

It's also a business' job to pitch the product they're selling as good.

You think Toyota would want one of their dealerships telling customers the 2026 lineup is trash and they made better cars in the 90s?
I guess I just disagree with y'all about the point of media is.

You nikkaz want the NBA media to be North Korea style propaganda, which defeats the purpose, in my opinion.

People like "Inside The NBA" because they know that it's real opinions from real people who played the game at the highest level

You and Rebel think that the NBA media's job is to just glaze the product and be a propaganda style outfit.

If "Inside The NBA" was that, nobody would watch it. :yeshrug:

The media should HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE, not enable bullshyt & tell people it's gravy.

That's political media, entertainment media, and news media.

But, I guess this is why folks love Fox News & MSNBC because they'd just rather have media glaze their favorite team, rather than be objective:francis:

No one wants glazing.

What we want is:

  1. Analysts that actually watch the game and know what they're talking about. Why should I listen to you when you don't even know that Detroit is having a good season?
  2. When you have a team like Detroit, young team led by a young star that's having a surprising season, why not push that story to get casual fans interested? You don't see how automatically shutting down any discussion of the team hurts the league? The cohost wants to talk about the team and Cade and Shaq, after finding out the team is actually having a good year, says if they're not 40-20 they're not worth talking about :mjtf:
Neither of those things are glazing.

I'm a Bulls fan. Ain't been anything worth talking about that's good since Lonzo's first year when we were like #1 for a minute. If media wanted to trash the Bulls, Reinsdorf, AKME, they should, we deserve it. They've done absolutely nothing to try to improve the team in the 3rd biggest market in the league.

But when a team is actually trying and succeeding at putting a team on the floor that competes and wins, media should talk about that team and promote them.

The intellectual dishonesty is hilarious

Nobody is asking these analysts and talking heads to shamelessly dikkride and carry water for the league and its players

But there’s a difference between offering critique and just hating. That shyt Shaq just pulled with the Pistons, that’s not criticism, there’s nothing constructive there. Just hate and negativity.
