Why is Karl Anthony Towns let off the hook?

Which is madness for a first overall pick and all the hype he had surrounding him.

He’s looking like a third option at best now. Ant will need a legitimate second offensive scoring threat to be paired with and it ain’t KAT. And you can tell it’s a work ethic thing with dude.

His game has regressed tremendously since his first few seasons and there’s nothing in his game you can point to and seriously say he’s improved on. Sure he can shoot the 3 but that’s every man big man in the league now.
I wouldn't necessarily go that far considering that he was good enough to make All NBA team last season, so the talent was still there then.

For whatever reason, it just doesn't carry over to the playoffs.

Not being used properly? They got Gobert because he’s such a failure at the five. Can’t protect the rim and really doesn’t have a post game

HE WAS BETTER UNDER TOM THIBODEOU AS A CENTER

HIS DEFENSE WAS SOLID AND HE SCORED MOST HIS POINTS IN THE PAINT

LIKE I SAID….NOT BEIN USED PROPERLY

Towns actually can score well in the post, he just never does it.

It’s just very hard to build your team with having a big that can’t protect the rim as a big part of your equation. You’ve got to either play another big that will defend the rim(but that causes spacing issues offensively) or build the rest of your lineup with 3 and D guys. The Kings are having a similar issue with Sabonis

And they’re stupidly blaming Mike Brown for it.

Shooting Guards (like Ant, SGA) shouldn’t be tasked with playmaking duties. Im willing to die on that hill. Need a lead guard or lead forward, like Luka is to Kyrie, and Tatum is for Brown, to take the attention off the ball and free them up so all their plans of attack doesn’t have to come off the dribble all the time. The primary ball handler doesn’t even need to be the type of player that command the amount of “gravity” that Tatum or Luka does, but just enough where you’d have to worry about that guy breaking down the defense as well. They would be able to hide Trae Young on defense, and his offensive capabilities in addition to this team speaks for itself.

They were consistently one of the worst defensive teams in the league stop it. He only could score on mismatches. Do I need to post that famous pic of him looking likes he’s about to cry posting up a proper big? It’s clear he prefers to be on the perimeter.

If you're a primary handler then the playmaking responsibilities don't come by choice they come because the defense will force/DICTATE that you need to make plays for others because they're going to double and triple team you and load the box. The playmaking necessity is a product of them not actually being "SG" but lead guards.

SG's aren't supposed to be bringing the ball up and running offense but since modern SG's do those things with the game nowadays being so pick n roll heavy you will have to burden playmaking duties or else you're too easy to guard.

This is what Ant is running into right now... It's what JT ran into in the finals as well... Since they both aren't the passers that Luka is they struggle to have an impact offensively without getting to the rim or making step back 3s. They don't impact the defense as well as off ball players (off screens/ posting/ cutting) as they do with the rock in pick n roll. Ant and other young primary ball handlers have to learn that if they want the ball that much they have to become a better playmakers and diversify their scoring profile to avoid situations linke Ant is currently going through.
