Why is it that Ethiopians only date Ethiopians?

Ignorance mostly.

Honestly, I've only met between 6-10 individuals whose parents where from the Horn of Africa but I've never seen them to date black people of West African descent.

Feel free to educate me tho, cause I do have a super small sample.

Most are just unfamiliar with other groups when they get here. Just learning things like "Hello" & "How are you" in their language will get them talking. America is seen as the "prize" to get to so YOU saying something in THEIR language says you care and think they are important people.

Maybe cause I'm from the DMV and they're here in abundance but I've never heard of an Ethiopian exclusively dating other Ethiopians only. I'm sure it happens but it's been pretty rare in my experience. Maybe it's just something up with you.

But honestly it depends on where you live and the type of Ethiopian you're tryna get at. The Americanized ones who were born here or were raised here typically aren't that averse to dating outside the Ethiopian community from my experience. It'll be a tough task tryna date a non-Americanized Ethiopian though, as they tend to be very insular and keep to their own communities

Although I've dated one before, I'm not gonna act like the OP don't have a point.

Anyway, a lot of those young ones feel like they're a big prize to us, so be prepared to handle that if you date one. That type ain't worth it, athough you probably won't learn that until late.

In my experience, they are very faithful to their Orthodox Church religion, and they'll only date other Orthodox men.

I have Ethiopian and Eritrean friends, they get real butt hurt when African American men bag their women on the low. On the other hand, just like other groups, they think they are entitled to the most beautiful African American women that they can find.
