Kinda a spin off the thread about the cat that got killed by the police becuz of the custody battles. Obviously, he lost the battle and said fukk it.

What bothers me about this is tryna understand why do they always rule in the females favor? What makes the female the suitable parent and damn near every situation?

I ask this as a parent whose gone thru the custody battle and won. I didn't throw dirt on my ex's name but she tried to embarrass me in the courtroom.

Which is generally true, but still fukk that shyt because there's a lot more to being a good parent than coddling your seed.
how is this generally true? pretty much all of my friends who are fathers adore their kids and would do pretty much everything for them. as far as mothers go on the other hand, two of them are ratchet. one left her man and her kid to go and live with some other dude not even a year after her son was born. the other spends her days smoking, talking on the phone and on facebook while she parks her kids in front of the tv and yells and them when they are not being quite. now, i know this is not a representative sample, but it has in fact led me to assume that fathers are the more nurturing and responsible parents.

In addition to the preconceived notion that mother = nurturing and more caring, it's also an overcorrection of how women were treated in custody battles long ago when men were the main breadwinners.

It always needs to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, in my opinion. In custody battles though, people will try to slander each other as much as possible so that could be a bust as well.

Independently investigated by someone objective to the case could be the best way to go but also has its flaws.

There is only 3...... maybe 4 reasons why a male will win custody over a woman.....

1)Chronic hard narcotics user
2)Discernible child abuse
3)Pathological lying & sabotage(and they have to be caught)
4)Having the judge in your pocket(Applies to wealthy)

For the average, non-wealthy male, you will have to prove beyond a shadow of 2 doubts.... meaning at least 2 of the first 3 things have to happen before a judge will consider giving a male custody.

The court system should definitely change this ridiculous law, as a woman who had a father, I couldn't imagine growing up without him instilling life values and structure (that I sometimes ignore) in me.

I mean my mom is a great strong woman but I feel that in some situations, my mom and mothers in general can be too coddling and that's where fathers come in to tell it like it is. No sugar coating, no bs. This is why a strong two parent household is necessary.

Mothers are more nurturing (usually)

but I believe kids NEED their fathers.

Fathers offer structure and discipline.
