Why is it no animated shows or movies with black kids as leads.

Beyond the lights is very dope and you'd think it would've had a bigger impact seeing as how it was the same woman who brought us love and basketball. But yeah we don't support the shyt we do get when we get it unless it's ratchet shyt, hood shyt, or anything in between.

I don't think the movie only got a limited theatrical release. Right?

Nah homie it was a wide release. cats just lamed out as per usual when we get quality product. Money talks. Every cat in here who asks for links to shyt rather than putting down their money is part of the problem that my man @Ain't That Something is dealing with right now

Really?! If that movie really got a wide-release, it came & went with little promotion. The only reason I watched it is because a couple of Black podcasts I listen to discussed the movie & talked about music industry being a big part of the movie.

Got plenty of promo here in my area so I can't speak on anyone else.

Nah that shyt had some promos in my areas but it was a date movie, and I haven't spent money on those since I been married, so I guess and those rarely make money shyt I didn't wast money on that fifty shade movie either. Dont think date movies make money period regardless of who it's aim at.

In all fairness, TV animation is dead aside from Adventure Time/Regular Show/Spongebob type cartoons. :yeshrug:
This!! Y'all didn't bring this factor up. The 90's was the golden age for kids Animated TV shows. So even Black folks got thrown a few bones with some of the shows mentioned in this thread.

I watched all these shows as a kid and my kids will too.
As for not having anything for your kids, we live in a age of technology and on demand entertainment. There's nothing stopping you or your kids from watching all these television shows today.

Show's not airing on T.V. is no excuse in this day and age...
