Peep the rise of the "van life" movement. That shyt is on the rise because an increasing amount of working class folks are getting priced the fukk out of housing so they cop a van or RV to live in.

Vandwelling - Wikipedia
No the fukk it is not lier.. You know how much a prep van cost? At least a condo... You can buy a trailer for $27000

Or we could do away with property tax on owning one home and scale it drastically for multiple

I like the idea of it, but don't your taxes also affect schools an public resources?
I’m not sure what’s liberal about being ok with homelessness, and unaffordable housing :francis:

That’s stuff the people who want unregulated capitalism say dude
I don't think he's saying he's okay with it. Kinda seems more like okay "that sounds good" but in reality what would that affect?

Personally I think its bs to pay taxes on a home you are paying the mortgage on. Mainly because they can increase, and push ppl who have lived in communities for years out cuz they cant afford that extra money a month being lost

Here's an interesting fact: The Air Forces F35 fighter jet program cost so much that the amount of money spent could buy every homeless person in America a house. A $600,000 house. And the plane doesn't even work like it's supposed to.:francis:

America just doesn't give a fukk about poor people. I'm not so much concerned what individual citizens are spending or how many homes they own so much as what our government is spending and on what.

Defense budget like 100 trillion but having a beach house is the problem

There needs to be caps on personal ownership of real estate. Absolutely no reason for neighborhood after neighborhood of *nearly empty houses.
Nothing wrong with buying real estate my guy it's a good investment. What needs to be regulated is foreigners need to be barred from buying real estate tho.

this isn't about some generic concept of "housing" , it's about housing in a handful of expensive popular metro areas
i just went to zillow and put in chester pa and baltimore md and sort from lowest to highest and it was hundreds of properties under $100K, many that need work for under 50k in baltimore which is a "major" city in fact :dead:
people in this country can afford houses, it's just not where they want the houses to be. yall want a fantasy world where people can live where they want when they want and that's never been the case, even before the concept of private property evolved (earlier civilizations paid for land in blood)

I wish people would just be honest and admit they want to live in a handful of sexy cities like NYC and Los Angeles:dead:

I know so many people who left New York moved down south and finally became home owners

Exactly. There is no affordable housing crisis. If you can't afford to live in the metro that you want to then move to somewhere else and set up shop. These pocket watching people with their fake moral grandstanding are so disingenuous. They use real people's pain and suffering as a way to advance their own sense of entitlement to other people's shyt. The truth is that if you can't hack it in this system then you probably couldn't hack it anywhere.

There's also a difference between house and shelter. Any muthaphucka that's sleeping outside on the sidewalk is doing so because they want to.

Y'all are the global one percenters thanks to capitalism and riding the coattails of people way more enterprising than yourselves. Maybe consider moving to a country that is more in line with your philosophy.

I understand Socialist sentiment that runs this board, but it's misguided

Alot of people have no historical context of the economic systems that pre-dated Capitalism. It was a Monarchy or Oligarchy where that certain group hoarded all the wealth and did not allow any citizens to have personal ownership of property

And on top of that imposed a unified religious system where anyone who thought different were persecuted, imprisoned, etc
