maybe because the components are miniaturized and therefore more difficult and expensive to manufacture?

when it comes to processors, RAM, and cameras, I believe those are the same parts. obviously the ipad has some more costly parts than the iphone in terms of the battery, screen and shyt like that. but I guaruntee they share a gang of parts.
