Why is it acceptable for NBA fans to root for different teams every few years?

People get called out on that shyt then beat down or worse for changin up squads.

In the NBA especially, the league is based more around star players than the teams themselves, so how am I gona hate on someone who takes a liking to a new players game, and if their home team sucks what's wrong with rooting for that player/team while their teams rebuilding?
