He had a hot 2 years nationally but was not an A lister, and died on an album that didn’t do numbers like his first - just how much are people supposed to discuss him when 97-00 was loaded?

He was one of the best lyricist alive from 97-99 and had a highly successful debut. Nobody from that era went bar for bar with him.

I'ma add on to this thread by saying If Pun would've came out with his debut in 95 when he had PERECT BREATH Control and his flow was immaculate, history would've treated pun along the likes of how Biggie is seen. The thing is his debut was started in 97 and by 98 his weight was obvious where you can hear in some of the tracks on Capital punishment. You can tell which ones were recorded in 97 and which ones in 98 "Not a player" still had breath control, great delivery "Still not a player" recorded in 98 and you can tell his weight was starting to affect him. If pun comes out with a debut in 95, then drops capital punishment in 98, hes probably seen in a different light. To where he'd be forgiven for "Yeah baby". Just hear his 95 delivery and flow on these joints!

Pun is a monster, one of my favorite flows of all time. I just bumped Capital Punishment last week, and it's a really complete album...lyrical tracks, club ish, street shyt, posse cuts, stuff for the shawties, etc. Pun is an absolute beast.
