Years ago on this forum I used to say that the biggest lowkey benefit for black hollywood films (and black actors) would be afrikan countries like Nigeria, Ghana, etc finally getting their economy, infrastructure, electricity, etc stabilized and flourishing to the point where they could turn their attention to such luxuries as movie theaters; where-in they could play the same politics that China and other countries do in being 'valued customers' that hollywood has to find a way to cater to (or to not piss off).

That was largely based off the "old model", and in regards to big budget films or just films outside the usual scope of slave films and historical 1960s pieces. It'll be interesting to see what opportunities come out with this new model and how other black entertainers can perhaps take that Tyler Perry model (for lack of a better term) and expand it to other genres. Kevin Hart is already doing so in his own movies, as far as the comedy realm.
