not sure that i agree, the dude who built up scientology clearly had what many consider "crazy" views. and i didn't give any presuppositions about what type of leader i envisioned. like i said, this online following shyt seems to really get certain people fired up or on board, it seems like any person with an agenda could really push and have 10-15k people as part of their "cause", it's just surprising to me that this hasn't happened (to my knowledge) yet

I thought you meant a leader that could get million of followers. Scientology as many followers as it has is not as big as Mormons.

Some people say there are too many followers. I think that today's spontaneous movements and the various schools of thought (the internet means increased competition over views/news/leaders) has led to a leaderless movement. In the worst case scenario, you are left with a bunch of jacks who are not kings and there is a lack of singularity as a result. In the best case scenario, if good leaders arise, it will not be as easy as targeting a single person and seeing an entire movement, paradigm, and way of life collapse. Instead, the idea will still move forward. I think in some time, a multi-headed beast (meant in a good day) will emerge.
