They probably thought he left the label.
Either he has a horrible contract or someone really believes in him.
Either way his career is over.
Why release him and take the chance of him blowing on another label. He's not releasing anything that would cost them money to promote and I don't know if he's touring but I'm sure if he is their seeing a chunk of change for it.
