Why has wrestling never done the "off-day" story?

because most people will look at it as botching and chances someone gets injured increases as they would be taking bumps they are not use to.

They've done the "he's got the flu/his mind is somewhere else" thing before, which is similar, I guess. I'm sure there's been an "off day" angle somewhere.

It's not entirely impossible. Look how Christian was losing in his last set of matches of his recent IC reign and afterwards? Kept fukking up, leading to his opponent capitalizing (on his ankle) and getting the W.

now that I got that off my chest, it seemed like when MVP has that losing streak it cam off as an off day(s) kind of thing. When wrestlers have an off day we'll just look deeper and try to figure out what he did for this level of burial to occur. If Sheamus started missing brogue kicks all of a sudden, but still wins with some bs like a roll up it could work.
