Why don't people watch broadcast TV anymore?

Yeah watching broadcast TV isn’t even a consideration to younger millennials and younger…it’s like having a landline phone to us that came of age during the rise of smartphones….so I’d expect those numbers to drop exponentially more over time

Too many as adverts and those 22-24 episode seasons are stretched out too long. Sept to May is a long time to try and keep the average casual viewers interest.

I don't know how new original IP's suppose to survive the rotations of 3 weeks on then off for 2 weeks back for 4 weeks then it's on and off up till after thanksgiving and sometimes is like 2 months off Dec and Jan then back for 3 weeks and then off for 2 weeks.

Either cut the shows to 10-16 eps a season or drop 2 episodes a night.

Even the OG Shameless became a chore to watch. It went from 7-8 episodes a season till the 5th season then it jumped to 15 ep then season 8 was 22 which was it's peak then the final 3 seasons went back to a more enjoyable 10, 10 final season was 14 eps.

I stopped watching network TV shows in the mid 2000s. After watching Sopranos The Wire or Curb, how could I ever go back and sit through a laugh track episode of The a Big Bang?

A few reasons.

Broadcast television shows, in general, are low quality and long-winded

In terms of how people consume content, whether cable or broadcast, unless the show is a major hit (e.g., Game of Thrones), appointment-based television is no longer the norm as there are so many different devices now that enable you to watch at your pleasure.
