Vacation time = drop in profits = drop in GDP

Because Americans don't need mental health, we're not pussies.

Americans cheerfully produce profits which aren't even going into the average American's pocket, even though they are playing a significant role in producing them. Productivity is steadily climbing, but in real terms, Americans are getting POORER.... If you aren't working towards your own business or something where you can participate in the profits directly, you will not get ahead. Inflation, wage deflation due to 'globalization' and other similar factors will eat your income up.

and people here are starkly against unions :pacspit:

It seems like everyone is anti-union these days. I work part-time in a non-union position at a company where nearly everyone else is union and my coworkers (non-union as well) can not stop bytching about union members.

:childplease: shyt is so transparent, always cracking union members are lazy jokes meanwhile they're just mad because union members have recourse when management fukks with them and make way more $$$, meanwhile as non-union we have been paid the same hourly rate for the last DECADE.

How people can waste energy being mad at unions/ people receiving public assistance while politicians and industry continue sodomizing the common man is beyond me.

Well said gents.

The anti union sentiment was pushed down by the rich cacs who want every one working for pennies. Sad thing is dumb people who are also working class buy into it. The rich managed to pit the poor working class, against the working middle class, while they sit their with :russ: face as the general public does their bidding for them. Look at how strong our workforce was back in the day and how they stuck together and the people supported each other.

The people buy into this shyt because everyone secretly sees themselves as the "rich and powerful person in charge" in their dreams and fantasies. They think to themselves, I would not want to have to put up with that if I was running a business. No one wants to see themselves as a working class person, but the reality is, we all work for someone.

So they join into the rah rah "anti union" rhetoric, to hide themselves and hopes that the rich elites will notice them and identify them as one of "them"

anyway you cut it, unions benefit the worker and the working class. companies are making more and more, and workers are getting less and less.

Products that are outsourced still cost the same or more than when they are made here.

Everyone complains about the quality of the goods we buy, its a running joke all over the rest of the world, all that shyt is JUNK. You see a MADE IN CHINA or INDIA you know something isnt gonna work or line up right. My dude bought a desk from ikea not long ago, and none of the drilled holes lined up with the frame :dead: How the fukk can you be off on every single measurement. :stopitslime:

No civilized country can compete with slave labor. Even if we all worked for 5$/hour it will still be more expensive than the chinese and indians in the fukking slave factories they got going on over their.

The middle class still is shrinking and we keep losing good jobs like teachers, becuz now a fukking teacher, one of the single most important jobs, is asking for 30$ an hour, and that is asking TOO MUCH.

:laff:

If you're a Redditor, you realize how the Europeans basically laugh at us.

It's alien to some of them.

"Work to live, not live to work"

But TWISM13 hit it on the head, it's basically a competition and some of these companies indirectly imply that they will promote the person who works the most, even if those days are designated for vacation or sick time.

Same thing goes with that "don't discuss salaries with co-workers" thing. That's just a way of trying to prevent you from realizing if you're getting screwed or not.

Ontop of no healthcare :russ:

This country is a fukking mess, can't help but laugh when people proclaim it as the best nation on earth. Might as well blow up the planet if that were true.

Workers get screwed because the wealthy elite create divisions among the working folk and Pitt them against each other. There is no way white people in Appalachia shouldn't be voting the same way as black people in Harlem and Hispanics in East LA.

They have the same economic interests, but these interests are trumped by social issues and racial animosity.

I got a pretty good amount of vacation and sick time at my current job, but I kind of feel like I can't really use it due to us being understaffed. Maybe once they fill the open position I can take some time off, but until then I kinda have to put it off. Nobody else to really do the work. :manny:

The United States is one of three countries that doesn't mandate paid maternity leave. This is a really, really fukked up country at times.
