Why does the NBA not enforce these obvious traveling violations?

I've been saying it for years. The only way beats anyone off the dribble is by lifting or dragging the pivot foot.

If the player wishes to dribble after a pivot, the ball must be out of his hand before the pivot foot is raised off the floor. If the player raises his pivot off the floor, he must pass or attempt a field goal before the foot is returned to the floor. If he fails to follow these guidelines, he has committed a traveling violation.

That Lebron play is a tough call, and one I debate with people a lot in league games lol

He takes his first two steps with the ball still in one hand...so he technically can still dribble...but he picks it up, and takes two more steps.

The issue is whether those first two steps should count as the two allowed even though he officially picked up his dribble after they happened.

I think it's a travel, but it's not an easy one to call at full speed.

They were actually calling traveling pretty tight in the Celtics-Sixers series. There was one game where they were calling tickytack travels like it was college ball.... I was like , huh?
