Why does the Coli pretend Big Boi is on Andre 3000's level?

Big Boi is better than 3000. Big Boi has a solid catalog of solo music and their group work that clearly indicate he was a major factor in their sound. All I can judge 3000 for is the verses he has on OutKast stuff, his guest spots, and a singing album with 1 rap song. In terms of writing verses 3000 is slightly better but as a complete artist it's going to Big Boi.

Don’t listen to these people. Bigboi has a legit solo rap career yet people only bring him up to try to shyt on Dre. I just laugh at it all.
Big Boi needs to do another Big Grams or an album with Killer Mike. I wish we had Big Boi and Killer Mike in a group instead of RTJ.

OP is a fukking casual

I can't think of 1 album where Andre outshined Big Boi.

On their quintessential albums, ATLiens and Aquemini, they both had their moments. Andre won on Elevators and Two Dope Boyz, Big got him on Babylon and Wailin. Andre was a monster on Return of the G and Aquemini. Big Boi shined the most on Skew it on the Bar-B and Y'all Scared.

Speakerboxx > The Love Below

You could tell on Speakerboxx that Big Boi was still finding his comfort zone as a single artist and he nailed it with Sir Luscious Left Foot. Working with George Clinton and Janelle Monae, he kept it funky and varied while maintaining what he brought to OutKast

Meanwhile Andre does a few remixes where he blows everyone away and suddenly he's the much better of the two? :mjlol:

Now if you say, Andre is the more vivid artist, with the verses that stand out more on first listen, cool. I hear you on that. This is where casuals like the OP stop. And believe that Andre clears Big Boi. "All Big Boi talks about are Cadillacs and guns, Andre be spitting that real" :pachaha::mjpls:

They both hit the same levels of technical expertise, substance and depth if you listen closer. Big Boi speaking about grief due to losing his aunt on ATLiens, or the difficulty of escaping the dope game on Aquemini, or teenage pregnancy on Stankonia...

None of this is talking down on Andre's resume with OutKast. He's a bonified legend in hip-hop based on those 5.5 albums (Idlewild :pachaha:), and what he brought to OutKast was irreplaceable. The same applies to Big Boi. And with the difference in their solo careers, I've yet to hear a cohesive argument for why overall, Andre > Big Boi

:mjlol: Big Boi being on 3stacks level
Outside of The Love Below has 3000 done anything major that Big Boi wasn't a part of? Big Boi has a whole career away from 3000 to be judged off of. Anything outside TLB you're judging 3000 on for the most part has Big Boi's influence on it.

Sorry buddy. I was there. fukk your hindsight rose colored bullshyt:pachaha:

one cannot sensibly even refer to this website within the so called age of information website as open minded... there was still a robust literary culture at that moment at least relative to today... todays society is post literate ... even academia is constricting and purging. these are the epicenters of the west's alleged open mindedness

i was there and and am here

this isnt some endorsement of yesteryear as some rosy ideal model just a plain comparison

People try lower Andre's status by saying Big Boi is on his level, he's not.

Big Boi is great, Andre is just different.

And it's a similar spread between Havoc and P
Good comparison

Havoc was cool, but Prodigy is one of the best rappers of all time
