Above the fray.
It means that it's obviously not 'share and share alike' on the economic front. The AU is allowed to draw boundaries and so are we.
I acknowledged the AU's right to set parameters for countries . I pointed out their recent decision to exclude a country and their stated reason.
I wanted to know how individuals or an ethnic group within a country were asking for inclusion in an organization of countries?

If you can show me where I questioned your group's right to draw boundaries, I'd like to see it. What I did do is point out the hypocrisy of an individual "canceling" somebody because of his heritage ....explicitly saying so

Uh oh. Roland Martin aka “Gerald Dessert” is BIG mad at me for pointing out his family immigrated here from the Caribbean, and THIS is one of the reasons he is always talking down on Black American DOS, especially when we talk about getting reparations. That’s because he is not entitled to reparations because of his immigrant lineage. But Roland is a major supporter of immigration.
So THIS type of stuff is important to know when we have people like Roland out here speaking on Black American issues.
    #tangibles2020

and then trying to shill his products to a person of the same heritage .

So we, oft-cited as the richest of the Diaspora, are excluded from an explicitly African economic union bc certain W Africans sold us to a white country? Oh, ok.

No thought of how we provide access to the American market, huh? Ok. :yeshrug:

This thread is compelling but odd at the same time. Especially thoughts like yours.

I don't think the AU is thinking like that at all.

Most African nations except Ghana have to get themselves together before they can even offer AADOS anything tangible.

There should still be discourse and discussion between the two but rite now, Africa, particularly the former French colonies, are nothing but puppet states used to benefit European aristocrats

I mean no disrespect, just asking questions. I legit don't know. When I don't know, I ask those who do.

What difference does it make? They excluded Haiti too. They apparently ain't fukking with none of us, regardless of sovereignty.
There are AA Chambers of Commerce and Trade Groups across the country who are doing exactly what you mentioned in the other post...making deals with their African counterparts & providing access to the American market for African products and providing content to , and products in those foreign markets. Capitalizing on the influence on global cultures that AAs have to sell products to people in the fast growing economies of Africa.

These things are happening under the radar and out of the spotlight . Social media would have us all think differently. Forward thinking AA, Caribbean, and cont. Africans are out there linking up and trying to get that money. A person like the man in OP video who is AA and lives in Ghana is going to be in the ideal position in the future to do these things. He'll have enough of an understanding of business culture and practices in both countries to identify or create economic opportunities.

I understand the point Dynast is making (from the title at least, haven't watched yet) but this is something extremely difficult, if not impossible for African Americans in particular. We don't have a voting entity of our own. A number of these countries can't rely on their political leaders to do right by them, so expecting right by us is pretty fruitless desire too. Pan Africanism is only "dead" if you're still expecting the old form by Kwame Nkrumah and the likes. Pan Africanism today is much more decentralized and comprised of the people-- not leaders.

Seriously can some of you ADoS actually clarify your views on Africa and and Africans?

I thought you guys said you aren't Africans and your heritage and history is here in the US. You can't clam to be part of the ADoS movement and be Pro African at the same time. It is contradictory

He lives in Atlanta and frequents the continent though.

The fact that they refer to themselves as African Americans, clarifies their view point on Africa.

Being part of the ADOS movement does not have a damn thing to do with being Pro African. The ADOS is about reparations owed to the descendants of African Americans who were slaves in the USA; which means that the USA owes the debt. That doesn't have shyt to do with Africa or Africans. How are you not able to understand those positions? How the Hell could you even conflate those two positions?

Well op claims to be ADoS and he is asking why the AU has not admitted Black Americans to the organization. He is clearly Pan-African in his view.

I do not understand their position on Africa and Africans because it is all over the place. Some of ADoS people will claim Africans are c00ns teaming with Whites to oppress Black Americans, and that Africans are stealing the resources meant for Black Americans.

Now some are asking why Black Americans aren't admitted to the African Union.
