Why does Master P get a pass?

Most of what he did throughout his career was biting and piggy backing off of what someone else already did. He lies about the amount of records he sold, he isn't that great of a rapper, half of his roster or more wasn't very good either, he stands for nothing but pushing a black mafia image yet he's one of the most respected that there ever was. From the ice cream man theft to lil' romeo trying to capitalize off of lil bow wow's success to switching from east bay style to the n.o. style etc. etc. People credit him with making movies but he wasn't the first, he wasn't the first to succeed independently and he didn't put n.o. hip hop on the map. Why does he get a pass? This aint a hate thread either for the record I just don't get it.

I had my time of hating on P and NL cuz of how he bit off Pac the shyt gave me a bad impression even tho I fukked with Make Em Say Uhh, but it made me way more of a Cash Money stan as a result. But looking back on the earlier shyt before he was biting off Pac I realized the nikka was vicious plus No Limit had a rack of nikkaz that was on some real live gangsta shyt but just so happened to be able to rap. Now I fukk wit old No Limit shyt like I fukk with old CMR shyt. A biography on P's life would be pretty interesting, him, Baby, and J.Prince. Those are some fascinating people.

That Pac biting shyt.... you gotta remember (and this is gonna be a hated statement) that RIGHT when they started biting Pac, EVERYBODY was either biting Pac or was his best friend all of the sudden, namedropping him and buying verses cause Pac had just died.

All you had to do to get video airplay at the time was say Pac or do a little tribute. The had really just gone nationwide so even though they got the love, they also get the slack from Pac Biting.

movies (his own movie studios ala Tyler Perry, Ice Cube and Spike Lee)

This nikkas hustle game was legendary, his label was dropping and selling albums EVERY TWO WEEKS back in the day. Yea he dikkrode Pac but back then everyone was doing that shyt, you had nikkaz making Machaveli mixtapes SAYING they were Pac lol. You can bytch about C Murder, Magic and P all biting Pac but there were also nikkaz in that camp that could spit: Mystikal, Mia X, Currency, Mac, Fiend and others could spit, shyt C Murder dropped a classic with Life or Death and No Limit did drop some bangers for a minute. Dude don't get a pass he's is respected because he deserves that shyt.

a lot of this is misinformation and you pushing your personal opinion.

- master p put the lil soldiers out long before bow wow so
- everybody lies about their sales dog. I hate to break the news to you.
- "bout it" was the 1st of its kind. what are you talking about?
- master p didn't put new Orleans hip-hop on the map? lol. mystikal was the first to really blow from N.O. and there were minor dudes before him, but none of them really put the city on the map. I was a mystikal fan off that 1st joint, but I didn't know where that nucca was from and didn't care.

- as for the biting, P never claimed to be an emcee. hes a businessman/hustler. and just about all the rappers that he bit or borrowed from are cool with him and did tracks with him. you can tell dude is more of a fan and basically just makes his own versions of his favorites songs at the time. there are instances where hes really biting tho, but a lot of that chit is overblown.

and last but most importantly, they made some legendary music and when they were at their peak, they were all about supply-n-demand and giving the people what they want.

if you really are up on no limit, then you know that what master p did was amazing, whether you like dude or not. it shouldn't be rocket science.
