They don't like to have complex offenses in the SEC because people are slower there. Academic standards for recruiting in the conference is very low. Got to keep things simple there.

Outside of Eli, Payton, Cutler, and Cam. SEC sucks at QB. Tyler Wilson has potential to be good in the right situation.

Big 12, Pac-10, and Big Ten produces the best QBs, followed by Mid-Majors in no order.

Look at the starting QBs in the NFL and see what conferences they played in. Its been like that for years.

Its the reason Geno Smith and Matt Barkley will be the top 2 QBs in the draft. Its funny that RGIII played in the Big 12, where people says no defense is being played but he steps in and is playing like a vet completing over 70% of his passes.

I said the exceptions of Eli, Peyton...not many other elite QBs from SEC in NFL

as opposed to what other conference?

you act like there's some conference out there that's got the majority of the elite QBs in the league

Elite NFL QBs
Tom Brady - Big Ten
Drew Brees - Big Ten
Peyton Manning - SEC
Eli Manning - SEC
Aaron Rodgers - Pac 12

Next Tier NFL QBs
Matt Ryan - ACC
Ben Roethlisberger - MAC
Jay Cutler - SEC
Joe Flacco - 1 AA
Matt Stafford - SEC
Tony Romo - 1 AA
Phillip Rivers - ACC
Matt Schaub - ACC
Mike Vick - ACC

the young guys like Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin, Ryan Tannehill, Andy Dalton, Josh Freeman are still developing we don't know where they'll wind up

I mean...where is this mythical conference that's producing mad elite QBs?

I never said 1 conference is producing mad elite QBs. Dude asked about SEC QBs and I gave opinion on SEC QBs. you're right about starting QBs in NFL being spread throughout College Football. But what elite SEC QBs have been produced except Peyton & Eli if Cutler & Matt Stafford are mid-tier?

but that's the thing...if the SEC doesn't have many elite QBs then NO conference has many elite QBs...therefore what is the point of this thread or the arguement?

is it meant to be a statement that the majority of college QBs aren't very good?

Good post but :whoa:

Nobody is saying that one conference has a monopoly on QBs, but the SEC's vaunted defenses should make guys better in theory right? But it is not the case. Notice that guys that tend to be successful, played multiple years as a starter in passing friendly conference where shoot outs are more likely. This puts a lot of pressure on the QBs to make plays and be on top of their game. I think that is what makes them more successful in a pass friendly (based on rule changes) NFL.
