was referring to the idea of the thread that she is in blackface. She raps like a ratchet ass chick. Don't have to be black to be ratchet.

I always thought she should just be real and rap in her real accent. I guess she's just trying to fit in.

But I think there is a comparison right now between rock and roll and rap. I think rap is on the decline like rock was by the 80's. It started in the 50's and 60's being something very creative and amazing and by the late 80's it was a joke and no one took it seriously.

So I think rap has peaked and is on a decline now, like rock was towards the end. History repeats itself. By the early 90's no one was fukking with rock any more.

I think this depends on what you consider "Rock" to be. If you're using a very restrictive definition than I can vibe with this. But I'd argue that New Wave and Alternative were carrying the flag STRONG for rock music during the 80's and 90's.

I personally feel that the time period between like...77-95, was the greatest time in music PERIOD. Emergence of rap. Punk and the influence that it had on rock genres. Just a great time.

Rap doesn't seem like it lends itself to as much of an evolution though...guitar based music is more expansive. Rap seems like, outside of the electronic shyt, it's not going to really evolve much more.

I hate to support Eminem as I'm no real fan of him either....but these are different situations really.

Iggy literally changes her accent to rap. She's appropriating a culture she only ever saw on tv. An Australian has no business in the sphere that she's in.

She's about as manufactured as I've seen an artist in some time.

I'm not an ultra "credibility in music" guy but she's blatantly commercial.

I would put Drake in that same category fam.

I hate defending Eminem too cause I will always hold him at a distance for his young Bieber moment but to his credit he addressed it, in the most direct way possible.

In Without Me he said:

I am the worst thing since Elvis Presley
To do black music so selfishly
And use it to get myself wealthy

I don't see her darkening her skin tone, wearing an afro weave, or adding more nose to her existing one. A big ole a$$ was never exclusive to our people.

Lol @ BW wanting to look like a pale white woman.

Stop it.

And having a big ass was praised by non white people for decades so yes she is trying to fit in with black culture. Just like her poor attempts at twerking and rapping like what she perceives a southern ratchet black woman would sound like is her attempts at trying to fit in.
