Why does Godzilla '98 get so much hate?

I'm watching all the G flicks and just saw this one. I gotta say that I liked it as a kid and watching it as an adult it was enjoyable.

Now I'm at why it gets hate. I think G got more screen time in this one then in the new flick.

I saw it when I was 12 and loved it but as I've gotten older my issues with it are Godzilla lacking personality and creating a faux Jurassic park vibe with the eggs in Madison square garden. It has cool sequences tho and the buildup to Godzilla's appearance is dope

It's pretty much represents everything so so about the late 90s. It was just overblown and big for the sake of being big. Even the soundtrack was overgrown and aimless with Puffy doing the lead single over an old Jimmy Page song

That remake is hot fiyah.
