Tbh for alot of people writing decent lyrics isnt even that hard, it's creating a fanbase, making a buzz, promotion, building relationships with people that will further your career, all that while making music that keeps your targeted fanbase entertained, thats the hard part.

I....agree with you to an extent. But I would like to point out that there is more to rap than being able to write multis. Breath control, flow, delivery and your voice overall are also important aspects of rapping as well.
If me and Biggie rapped the lyrics to "Victory", Biggie would murk me because of his superior flow and delivery. The old Immortal Technique is an example of someone that is nice with the pen, but in terms of their flow and delivery their lackluster.
Rap is Music, so no only do you also have to be nice with the pen, you have to sound nice too. That's the difference between hacks and the greats like Nas, Pac, Jay and so on.
