Kanye has created/crafted multiple sounds that changed the soundscapes in hip-hop.

Drake & 40 initial sound changed hip-hop also, but it was based on 808's and Heartbreaks. That sounds lasted a good 4 years damn near.

Drake can still make hits but I been off Kanye for a while. I always give anything he drops at least 1 good listen but find myself not returning to it.

They're both in the history books of hip-hop though.

Drake paved the way for tons of ppl and created his own signature sound and aesthetic. He's retooled it a few times but at it's core he hasn't deviated much, especially the past half decade or so

Kanye reinvented himself and the sound of rap music multiple times. He's probably the most influential artist since the year 2000. Not just in music, but fashion, product, etc. He's paved the way for the entire industry.

Different lanes in a sense. They both just had mass popularity at one time.
