People love to play dumb about this. Growing up, I and most of my peers in school were educated, well-spoken black people in FBLA, HOSA and student council and nobody ever accused us of "acting white". Most of the great leaders were also well-spoken and educated and not a single kid in class thought they were "acting white". These folks have clear negative attitudes about black people, but want to play victim when the negative sentiments are returned.
