^ this was just last year another you guessed it comedy lol.
First time I see this cover :ehh:

I'm not sure this is generalized enough to say the West trivializes Hitler though, especially compared to its educational, political and social spheres where he's a pretty serious topic.

You feel like you see too many movies about Hitler?
In context, check the date of the release. 1940.
Also check who owned the studio it came out of and who executive produced it.

Jewish filmmaker was lampooning and mocking Hitler in this film as a way to undermine whatever image he was trying to project to the world.

I hear you a 100% but theres a diffrence between documentation and lessons to "soup nazi" and movies.

if i have to see another Oprah "enslavement movie" i am calling suspect on her character and spirit as a c00n and conitelpro operative.

why would people want to see hurt fantasized when the real is bad enough.

i think its clear the hitler/nazi thing is like a little cushion for the west to say "woe is me" but its tongue-in-cheek to me like they are winking.

but just my thoughts man lol.

Not sure about your argument.
Dude's name is basically synonymous with being demonic, evil, genocider , etc
He probably ruined the names Adolf and Hitler for the rest of humanity

I know, I wanted to see if OP considered satire as trivialization.

This movie came out in 1940 before we knew about the war crimes.
you have to school me on that, i dont know the movie you're referring to?

but hollywood is big on all things nazi even george clooney done about 3 movies on them, i just think its overdose. they cant be that mad or disgusted its like an abused victim wanting to see the abuser?

I can’t think of one positive portrayal ever of hitler.
Schindler’s list, that sad one with robin williams in the ghetto, even Inglorious Basterds made him die a horrific death.

I equate to the same way Osama bin Laden was portrayed on South Park as having a microdikk and that’s why he was wilding out

I knew it was trivialized when a white girl I worked with said her grandfather was a “Nazi sympathizer” in front of a group of other white people and nobody said anything.

I mean, the world is still suffering reverberations from Hitler's time in power (Russia, Israel Palestine, nuclear power, etc etc) so it's not like you can write him out of history. That fool, however evil he may have been, changed the world forever.

yeah and the southpark humor is a little too mean spirited for my taste, but i hear you but "inglorious basterds" was glorifying come on they looked cool and white boys would want to emulate which is dangerous.

They don't trivialise him. He's one of, if not, the most reviled figures in history.

Swear this board lives in a place that's seperate from the rest of the world at times.
This x 100.

If anything Hitler is obsess over and over hyped.

Groups and people have done much worse and arent mentioned at all.

May be before some of y'all's time, but I immediately thought of this when I saw the thread title.

this reminds me of a BBC show called "dads army" with a theme tune like "who do you think you're kidding Mr Hitler, etc etc" another BBC show about the Nazis called "Hello Hello". I mean it goes on.

War is a big part of it, but Stalin had a crew and up until a point Hitler was Mussolinis bytch maybe i am wrong but in this city i see the vibrations of just accepting this ideal and outlook as part of life.
