Why do some black people claim obviously mixed people as black?

Given how similar topics have turned out, especially in TLR, I'm just gonna tag @IllmaticDelta and otherwise watch 
The simple version is, here in the US historically, looking like someone who has some noticeable amount of African ancestry is enough to be seen as "black".

what about mixed parents?
what if 1 parent is black and the other is half white/half black?
what if 1 grandparent out of 4 is white?
what if it's a black woman with a dark man of latin descent?
what if it's bob marley?
what if it's malcolm x?
you know that most african americans aren't even ALL black.. meaning they might be wesley snipes color and find out in their dna, their is 20% european blood
are we doing dna tests to decide? or just the brown paper bag test?
it's too many damn variables and questions and concerns for every day nikkas to be walking around trying to determine your level of blackness.

I go by this simple ass rule.
If they consider themselves black they are black.
If they consider themselves mixed they are mixed.
If they consider themselves white they are white.
It's not up to me to dictate what a motherfukker considers thrmselves.

Simply: We get told what we are very early on from society.
We maybe holding our white Mum's or Dads hands but it don't stop them calling us "N*gga, Monkey" or whatever foul garbage that comes out of their mouths.
