lol at you  I can tell the difference because they look like my fam. Or did you purposely ignore when I said that? :obama:

Obama looks like a black guy to me and most people I know. Didn't even know his mom was white until I read his book. Black people come in all different skin tones. So yeah, I didn't know.

Obama only looks Black because Black America has accepted the mixed-race look as being authentically Black (which it's not).

I call him black because he calls himself black and he actually looks black in my opinion. Would have never known if I didn't read his book. Not because of a one drop rule. Can't speak for anyone else.

But since you brought up the one drop rule, what is it about that rule that makes it so disturbing to you (besides obvious racism)? I just want your opinion. I'm not going to argue or anything. I only ever hear about this rule when I am online. No one ever really discusses it.
It treats black blood as if its a contaminant.

Ever heard this saying? One drop of sewage in a glass of water turns the water into sewage?

Whites didn't want any black blood associated with their group. So they just threw mixed people in the black group. They basically said mulattoes have your inferior negro blood, so they aren't good enough to be in our group or associated with us, but they have our precious white blood that will give them light skin, good hair and less negro features. So in reality we are helping YOU! :troll:

And ignorant black people ate that shyt up. :mj:

I can't tell you how happy my great-grandmother was that I was half white. She loved it. When it shouldn't have even mattered.

You are easily among the worst posters on this site.

You are talking about being white as it is some kind of honor and privilege, well I have got some ground breaking news for you, it isn't.

There is no such thing as "black people" or "white people", those are old unscientific characteristics. When a person mixed a "black" person with a "white" person, they would lose the physical features which made them "white", even though they were never "white" or "black" to begin with. It was all about appearance, and therefore if Barack Obama LOOKS black, and self identifies with the old unscientific characteristic of "black", then he is BLACK.

How difficult is this for you to understand? Whiteness and the one drop rule are about a person having the appearance of that ancient view of whiteness, which wasn't ground in any kind of genetic research, simply perception.

So "white privilege" doesn't exist? Light skin isn't preferred in the black community? Black women don't straighten their hair and buy weave? There is no such thing as "good hair" in the black community? GTFO with your bullshyt kid.

Those groups are dark skinned for the most part.

And if you go to South East Nigeria where Igbos originate from they are mostly Chocolate Brown skinned.

In the Horn of Africa, which includes Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Djibouti they are mostly dark-skinned people. It's only groups like the Habesha, Raishada for example who are historical immigrants from Arabia who are light-skinned. Somalis, Oromos, Afars (related ethnic groups) are dark-skinned for the most part.

I never said they're exclusively or even mostly light skinned, only that a lot are light skinned. Most Igbos are medium to dark brown but enough of them are light that it's worth mentioning in regards to this topic. A lot of people think Oguchi Onyewu is mixed for example but both his parents are Igbo. I'm not all that familiar with the specifics of the Horn of Africa (I was going by the many people I see everyday) so I'll take your word for it there.

What I wana know is, if obama isn't black then why did 94% of black folks vote for him?

Why did young jeezy make a track called "my president is black?"

Why does barack get so much love & support from the black community?

Here's the reality and bottom line Barack is a black man, he is considered a black man in america. That can't be refuted or disputed or argued. I didn't make the rules up, that's just how it is. Anybody disagreeing with that is honestly clueless or too gatdamn stubborn to recognize the real

At the end of the day black and mixed are not mutually exclusive. No matter what way you frame it, Barack is the first and only black man to be head of state in America. Him being half white doesn't cancel out the fact that he's black.

Not true, at least not for me. My dad is lighter and has more slimmer features than Obama but he has 2 black parents. So for me, there has never been a limit to how a black man should look because black comes in all shades, just like my dad.

Plus, Obama does not look "mixed" to me. I didn't even know his mom was white. If he looked more like Alicia Keys or Mariah Carey then maybe I would have suspected it. But still we can't really say there is a "mixed look" because there are many dark skinned people who have a non-black parent and no one knows because they have this stereotype in their minds of mixed being light skin and long hair. Its all complicated.

The only people who think being white is a badge of honor are those who have internalized racist beliefs.

racist beliefs are internalized in everyone, most before they're even old enough to read.

When you get to a certain age, you should be smart enough to reject and challenge those racist beliefs.

:heh:

No there isn't. You confused black folks always using a small minority as evidence.

The MAJORITY of dark skinned blacks have little to no admixture.

The MAJORITY of black women do not grow bone straight hair.

These are simple truths. There is a "mixed look" whether you new-age negroes choose to admit or not. Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Barack Obama, Kid Cudi, Blake Griffin, Halle Berry etc have a certain look that is vastly different from Blair Underwood or Vince Carter or :ooh: or :troll:

You internet kids just use outliers to make yourselves feel better. :whew: looks mixed because he is mixed.

I'm going to quote one of my posts from another thread, because I think it applies to this post.
You think that's true because of the one drop rule. It all comes down to perception. Most bi-racial people look like a mixture of both races, but since you have to be 100% white to be considered white and have any percentage of black ancestry to be considered black. What a "black person" looks like is diluted. The clear European features gets completely ignored, but you only recognize the "black" features. That's why people think that biracials look more black. When that's the furthest thing from the truth.
